My Story

At the age of 13 I was a live-in babysitter during the summer. I started going to the local community center. I met a woman there named Mrs. Landrum. I started talking to her about my own sadness, and always feeling like an outsider, even in my own family. We talked for about an hour and she asked me to come back the following week. I had no idea what was happening but I knew I started to feel better.  I went back every week for the entire summer. I felt connected to her in a way I had not felt before and I was honest about who I was and what I wanted. That was the beginning of my journey into therapy. I became a therapist because of her and I have never forgotten my time with her.

Counseling is

A way to help you develop a deeper exploration of who you are and how you can feel whole again.
